Versatile Blogger award

I was given this award by the lovely Lorna (thanks!) and I am now finally getting around to do it! :)

The Rules:
1. Thank and link back to the blogger who gave you the award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass it along to 7 blogs you've recently discovered and enjoy.
4. Leave your recipients a note, telling them about the award.

Not too sound like a rebel, but I won't be playing by the rules!  Well, not all of them anyway.  I have already taken care of number 1, I am about to do number 2, but I won't be doing 3 or 4.  Instead I invite anyone who is reading this and fancies doing it, to do it! :)

So, 7 things about me...

1.  I am a weird mix of very girly + tomboy.  I grew up as a tom boy, going to the football all       the time, wearing football tops, hanging around with the boys, playing shooting zombie computer games.  Then when I was around 18, I changed and went in the opposite direction.  Everything had to be pink or fluffy, or I just wasn't interested.  Now, at the grand old age of 27, I am somewhere in between.  I'm probably still more of a girl's girl and if you meet me I think I come across as sweet & girly, which I am, and I love all things pink & glittery, but I also still love a good game of Resident Evil on the Playstation, have 4 tattoos and I can still get down with the boys!

2.  I've had 2 significant relationships with boys.  The 1st one started when I was 18, and finished when I was 24.  In that time, we got engaged and bought a flat together.  The break up was tough with a capital T.  The next one started when I was 24 and is still going strong now.  I met him on a football bus and we were friends for a long time before we admitted we liked each other and our first kiss.  I was still recovering from my breakup when we got together which didn't make things easy but things smoothed out and we have now ended up in a rented flat together living & working in Edinburgh of all places!

3.  I kinda wish I knew what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.  My current plans are to keep on working away in a job that I don't hate, hopefully make decent money and move back to Glasgow.  I'd like to stay with bf (and maybe even get married!).  I'd love to live in London or Manchester too but if that doesn't happen I won't be devastated and I'll be happy with little holidays there.  My job is ok but it's not my ideal job.  If I knew what my ideal job was I would go out and get it!  I would study again and get the qualifications I need.  But I've no idea what that is so I can't.

4.  I have one younger brother.  He is 2 & a half years younger than me so not too much of a difference, but we are just not close at all.  We don't fight or anything, but we are quite distant.  I don't really know why, and it's a shame, but it's hard to do anything about it.  Really my whole immediate family is a mess!  And I'm usually glad to be out of the way in Edinburgh and away from the chaos.

5.  I LVE TV & films.  My bf loves his TV too, we're such lovers of TV that our 2 bedroomed flat has 3 TV sets, 2 Virgin + boxes and one normal Virgin box!  So that's one with V+ in the living room, one with V+ in the spare room, and one with a normal Virgin box in the bedroom!  So we can watch whatever we like, whenever we like, and watch different stuff at the same time if we want!  I've got hundreds of DVD's, and always got loads of films taped on my V+.  We both also have Cineworld cares, you know the ones you pay monthly and then can go to the cinema as much as you like?  Yeah :)

6.  I can't drive but I would like to.  Every year I say I am going to learn, but still have not started!

7.  And finally, sometimes, when I'm on the move, listening to my iPod, I pretend that I'm in a film, and the music that I hear from my iPod, is that music in the film, the soundtrack as I am walking around, being in the film!  Daft, eh? :) xx

Mo' Money Mo' Problems

More like Less Money More Problems!  I'm going to be hit with lots of bank charges next month, going to cost me about £100 :( I've also got other things to pay for like rent, bills, haircut, eyebrow threading, friend's birthday present & party, sofa/chair covers, removal people & van....... ouch.  I think I'm going to put off the glasses until my next pay.  The haircut.... well I can't claim it's essential but I do need it.... ha ha.  And for the rest of the month I'm going to have to be really careful.  *sigh* well that's the plan.

I've got other plans.....

♥ look better
I think I'm an average looking girl.  I'm not that good looking, I'm not that bad looking (most of the time), I'm just somewhere in the middle.  But, I believe I could look better.  I wear make up but I think I could wear it better.  I've never really worn foundation.  For the last 2 years I've worn a Benefit face powder but it's now running out, and also, I think I need more coverage now that I am 27 *sob sob* and so, I have been looking in to foundations and have decided that tomorrow, when I get paid, I will be taking advantage of the 3 for 2 offer on Max Factor in Boots, and buying their Experience liquid foundation, and also their minerals foundation.  I'll throw in their False Lash Effect mascara to complete the trio.  I currently use & love that.  I've no idea what shade to go for, I'm hoping it's easy to choose when I'm in the shop.  I need contact lenses & glasses.  I MUCH prefer contacts.  In fact I hate wearing glasses because I feel like they make me look bad.  I feel like however good I think I look, when I put glasses on they bring the whole look down a touch.  The thing is, I need to wear glasses to work because long days + sitting in front of a computer all day + contact lenses = headache.  I had an eye test last week and I could do with new glasses but as I said I will get them in my next pay.  I will need to choose nicer looking ones.  The ones I have just now are not bad but I think I could do better.  I'm paying much more attention to my wardrobe and keeping it up to date & also only buying clothes that will suit my shape.  Then there's my hair.  My hair can be good but I need to spend more time on it in the mornings.  This will lead on to my next plan.

Wow, that probably sounds really vain but it's true...

♥ get up earlier and have some routine in the mornings
I'm so bad in the mornings it's unbelievable.  It doesn't matter what time I set my alarm, I get out of bed at the latest time possible.  Either that or I get up at a reasonable time but then I mess about watching tv or on my phone, and then I'm rushing about to get out the door.  This is ridiculous, because I only live 10 mins walk from work.  This is all going to change in a week because I am moving.  I'll only be a 15/20 min walk from where I am now, but it'll still be a longer walk.  I cannot be late for my work, it's just not an option so I have to make sure I'm on time.  I don't want to be rolling out of bed like I have been doing because I won't have the cushion of the tiny walk to work.  SO my plan is to get up earlier, give myself time to wake up, have a cup of tea, quick shower and time to make myself presentable and then being able to walk leisurely to work without being late!

Gotta be done! xx

You think you're chocolate but you're chewing gum!

Hi :)

My birthday yesterday was lovely.  Bf really wasn't feeling well but he still insisted on getting up in the morning and going out to bring me a McDonald's breakfast so I could have it in bed :) we then had a lazy morning in bed, and eventually got up to view a flat.

I reeeeeeeeeeally liked the flat :)

After that we went to the Hard Rock Cafe, which is where I wanted to go for my birthday lunch.  I'd never been to one before though, and when we went in I wasn't impressed with the menu at all, so we moved on, and ended up in Zizzi's!  Yum!  After that we went to TGI Friday's where I had a champagne birthday cocktail, Bellini, mmm!

We then headed home for a while, then out to see another flat.  After that, bf made me my birthday tea!  Which was actually square sausage & potato scones!  Ha ha!  He said he knew I loved them (which I do) and what was wrong with eating that for dinner and not breakfast? :)  Then a lovely chocolate cake :)

Today it was back to work :( but not until after we had seen another flat!  It was nice but not really for us, and we decided to go for the first flat we seen yesterday!  Due to move in on 4th February :) I am soooooooooo excited!  I need to look in to foam mattress toppers and couch covers now :) wooooooooo Ikea here we come! :) xx

I'm sorry, I can't afford a Ferrari, but that don't mean I can't get you there

Hi :)

My birthday tea with my family yesterday was lovely.  My bf's family also came.  Both families get on really well which is really nice.  My ex's family were kinda weirdos.  I got some lovely presents and also some money.  Even though it wasn't my actual birthday, I couldn't help but open my presents!  I will still have some to open on my actual birthday tomorrow though :) bf has kept his back, and I got one from my friend Steven tonight.  I will get presents from my friends late, as they are coming through to Edinburgh on the 15th for a late birthday lunch! :)

Bf stayed over with me at my parent's last night.  After the birthday tea we went for a walk together in the dark pouring rain (!) and then decided we would go for a sit-down Indian meal, yum yum.  At the end of the meal we were given a shot each.  I had Apple Sourz, bf had Cherry Sourz.  Weird to be given them randomly after an Indian meal but nice.

Today I gathered all my stuff together and my Nana & her husband gave me & bf a lift back to Edinburgh.  I needed a lift from Edinburgh with all the presents I had for other people before Christmas, and then it was the same on the way back with all the presents I had received!!  Bf hasn't been feeling too well so he just chilled out when we got back but I started to try and put away some of my presents and and stuff I bought myself in the sales.

Tonight me & my friend Steve went to the cinema to see The King's Speech starring Colin Firth!  I wasn't that interested in the film but Steven asked me last week to go.  He is really in to the royal family and so was really excited.  I don't really like them but do find them & their history kinda interesting.  Anyway the film was great!  Colin Firth is amazing in it, and so is the guy that plays his speech therapist, not sure of his name.  Steven picked me up and dropped me off home after it, and gave me my present!  Will be opening that tomorrow.

Well it looks like I will be having a nice birthday tomorrow :) bf has told me that he will be getting up to go and get us McDonald's breakfasts in the morning so I can eat it lying in bed, then we will be going to view a flat, then we will be going for a birthday lunch which I think I have decided will be at the Hard Rock Cafe, then we will be viewing another flat later, and then after that he will give me his own wee birthday tea :) can't wait! :) <3 xx

A man that smells of cocoa butter & cash

Sooooooooooooo, hi :)

I went to the doctors on Friday regarding my pill/headache issues.  She was about to give me a different pill but before that she took my blood pressure.  My blood pressure has always been fine.  For some reason, on Friday it was too high :-/ she said it could be connected to my heart issues, maybe not but she wasn't comfortable giving me another pill while my blood pressure was up and so asked if I would come off it for 6/8 weeks and see how it goes with everything.  Which means relying on condoms for a while, eeeeek.  I'm back at the hospital on Friday for my heart so I'm just playing the waiting game just now to see what happens and see what all the doctors are going to say.

In other news, me & bf took Friday & Monday off work :) so on Friday after the doctor, we went for breakfast./  I had lovely pancakes & syrup, yummmmmmmmmmm.  Then we went to have a little look round the shops, then to the cinema to see Despicable Me in 3D, which was so funny :) we then went for lunch and then back to the cinema to see Red, which was great too.  Had a cosy night in after that :)  On Monday we plan to stay in aaaaaaaaaaaaaall day and watch films in the flat with loads of sweets & chocolate.  Might sounds sad to some people but I am looking forward to it :)

Yesterday I went shopping.  I went to La Senza and got measured, then bought 2 bras in my new size.  Well, it wasn't really a different size, the thing was that I don't really suit a plunge bra, I much more suit a balconette bra!  It's true, my boobies look much bigger & better in a balconette bra!  I then headed to the train station to make a trip to my nearest Primark, which is in Dunfermline.  Normally I can get a train from Edinburgh Waverley to Dunfermline & back no problem, but I discovered yesterday that there are engineering works from now til December, which made my trip a million times more difficult.  I had to get a train from Waverley to Haymarket.  At Haymarket (which is still in Edinburgh), no one knew what was going on, not even the staff.  They didn't know which train was leaving from which platform and when, so it was a little difficult!  Finally managed to get to Dunfermline and got my shopping done.  Getting back from Dunfermline was even more difficult than getting there!  When I got to the station in Dunfermline there had just been a train to Haymarket cancelled, and there was no information about the next train.  Eventually got one, then had to wait aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages for a train at Haymarket to Waverley.  The platform was so busy and there was loads of screaming, crazy kids :( I hate kids at the best of times but when they're shout & screaming it is just my worst nightmare.  Anyway!  Made it home eventually!!! :)

Got home, put my shopping bags in then headed back out to the supermarket to get some vodka for a party I was going to last night.  I bought Absolut pear vodka & lemonade.  My friend brought over orange vodka & champagne!  We had a drink in mine then headed to the party, which was a bit weird.  The birthday girl had asked everyone to dress "formally".  I enjoyed getting all dressed up but there was actually guys wearing tuxes & bow ties, and everything was a bit strange & subdued and we just got bored so we sneaked out!  We walked about Edinburgh for ages before finding food then heading home.  Had a bit of a headache this morning but fine apart from that :) xx

This must be the place

Hi, happy Saturday :)

I hope you've had a good week, mine's been pretty good.

I had a training course Monday & Tuesday, which was alright, not the best course I've been on but it was kinda fun and I met some nice people.  Aaaaand some "interesting" people.  I got particularly well with this one guy, and I noticed the other day that we are on another course together in November! :)

Back to work on Wednesday.  It was ok, then Thursday was really busy.  Yesterday was ok at work but I had to stay kinda late.  I got my mid-year review as well.  I got a good mark but I really hate reviews.  They make me all nervous.  I just hate the idea of sitting in a room while someone tells you how good or bad you are.  I just want to get on with my work.

Last night I went to a friend's flat for a while for a little drink then I just came home.  It wasn't a late one.
Boyfriend has been very cute this week :) <3 he phoned me from work on Thursday evening saying he was leaving to go to the shop to buy something for dinner and I said I would meet him and go the walk with him.  So I met him and he said he wanted to go to Tesco, but he said not the usual Tesco we go to, he wanted to go to "the other one, up the hill".  "Is there another one up there?" I asked.  "Yes." he said.  So I said ok and we started walking.  He stopped outside a nice restaurant and said "There's Tesco there!"  He was actually surprising me by taking me out for dinner :) awwwww!  Luckily I hadn't thought "Oh, we're only going to Tesco" and dressed like a tramp ha ha, I actually looked ok to be in the restaurant :)

Then, we were in bed the other night and just before midnight, he got up and said "Oh, I just have to go and switch my computer off, I've been downloading anti-virus stuff".  He was away for quite a while but I wasn't bothered, I ended up falling asleep!  But he lied!  It was nothing to do with anti-virus stuff, guess what he was doing?  Booking tickets for us to go and see Harry Potter on the day it's released!  He doesn't even like Harry Potter he just knows how much I do!  So sweet! :)

Staying in tonight and watching the X Factor, no plans for tomorrow so far :) xx

Sharing

I work from 3 different offices in Edinburgh.  The one I work from mostly, is the one closest to my flat.  I have a 10 minute walk home which is full of lovely scenery, and I thought I would share it with you! :) here are some shots I took on the way home tonight...
