I Like That

I'm having a lazy Sunday!  Have spent the morning lying in bed with bf catching up on the soaps we missed during the week.  Have now had a shower and am sitting on the couch watching Doctor Who while he watches the football.

On Friday night I went to Glasgow for dinner with a couple of girls from work.  Yesterday me & bf went to the cinema to see Paul (loved it, really funny) and then for dinner at Zizzi's.  We then came home and watched a dvd of Sweet Sixteen, then had an early night :)

As I say, quiet one today then back to work tomorrow.  I have to be in work for 08:30 then I'm getting the 15:00 train to Aberdeen.  Staying overnight there (in the Hilton, woop woop) and then got stuff in Aberdeen on Tuesday morning.  Travelling back to Edinburgh in the car after that.  Bit fed up with work just now so hopefully a wee trip to Aberdeen will cheer things up a bit!

I get paid roundabout a week from today.  I can't wait, as I have been lusting after some lovely stuff from the flat, most of it from BHS!  I don't often buy stuff from or venture in to BHS, but I wandered in the other day and found some gorgeous stuff...

"Pixie" bedding set

"Bird & Blossom" bedding set

"Overlapping Hearts" cushion

"Word" cushion

"Birds Line" cushion

"Owl" cushion

"Butterfly Appliqué" cushion

"Lyla" cushion

Kirstie Allsop "Adore" cushion

There is also a lovely little kitchen roll holder which I seen the shop but can't find on the website.  It's kind of cream coloured and has a little bird on it :) can't wait to buy some of this stuff, especially the cushions! xx

I've seen you in a fight you lost

Hey :)

I'm a little bit worried about the new flat!  I'm nervous that we won't get our deposit back on our current flat.  I can't think of a proper reason for us not to, I'm just worried about it.  I'm also worried about actually getting the new flat.  The agency are doing their "checks" and I'm worried about them too!  I'm just being paranoid I know (I hope), but I can't help it.  Also, neither of us can drive so it is difficult for us to move all our stuff.  My friend said her bf would hire a van from his work and move it for us, but now they have had a falling out and I'm not sure how things are with them and so I'm not sure what will happen with us moving :-/ I have furniture at my old room at my mum & dad's and my mum phoned today to say she would like to get all new furniture in the room so offered me some of the old stuff.  The flat we're going to is furnished but it would hurt to have this extra stuff.  I asked her how we would get it through and she suggested hiring a van, so we will see what happens.

Yesterday some friends came through and we had a belated birthday lunch for me.  Spent the whole day in Walkabout drinking cocktail pitchers, nice :) xx

Boo hoo

I feeling a bit sorry for myself :( stupid I know but I can't help it.

Yesterday was my work Christmas night out.  I had a great time during the day - me & my manager went out for our own wee Christmas lunch to Pizza Express (oh the glamour!) and had a few drinks and a great laugh.  After that we went down to the bar at work to watch Come Dine With Me.  Now, I know that might sound weird but CDWM was in Edinburgh this week, and one of the guys works in the building I work in, and a crowd went down to the bar to watch the final episode, which was also his night.  It was good fun.  Then we headed up the Royal Mile to a fancy little cocktail bar called Monteith's, which is really nice with lots of fairy lights.  My friend met us there, then we went to a dodgy bar which I hated!  We were only there for one though, and then headed to the hotel which our dinner was.  I was a bit tipsy by then and having a good time.

Then it all started to go wrong.

Nothing really happened I just stopped having a good time and I wasn't having a laugh and kind of felt like I didn't fit in.  I moved to Edinburgh properly about a year ago and I feel it's been difficult to make proper friends here.  I have made a few I would say but not enough to make me happy :-/

I have my friend S who is a lovely guy but sometimes he's hard work.  He can be veeeeeeeeeeery quiet and I feel like I have to make all the conversation, and then if I stop doing that, he won't start and will just stay quiet and I feel awkward :( I also have my friend (another S) who moved from Glasgow to live with her bf and is one of my proper friends from home, but now when I meet her in Edinburgh I feel bored because all she does is moan about bf and all their troubles.  But, then I think "is the common denominator, me?"  I have to have some part in it, right?  So that makes me feel shit.

I miss my friends from home and how easy it is to be with them.  I told my bf about this last night and his suggestion was to arrange to meet my friends tomorrow in Glasgow for lunch which I have arranged.  I don't do this that much coz it costs to get here and back but I feel I need it.

The other thing is...... I seen pictures of me from last night and I look so fat in every picture :( shallow I know :(

I know this is (hopefully) just a phase I am going through like we all do from time to time xx

Let it snow!

Oh it's so beautiful outside, it won't stop snowing :) it's getting heavier & heavier as I type, I love it :)

Last week was a bit of a nightmare.  On Wednesday I had to be in the office for 07:30am...... uuuuuuuggggghhh!  I made it though!  Then I was in for a long, tough day at work.  Went to sleep about 11:30pm, and was woken at 12:30am but the people downstairs having a party :( then I was up til 5am because of them!  They didn't quieten down til we got the police out.  They are generally noisy & annoying but this was just taking the piss.  Bf went down to see them the next day and they said they were sorry, didn't realise they were so loud, blah blah blah.  I was away most of the weekend but last night one of them came to the door to say that they had people over (10 people) and that they were meant to leave yesterday morning, but because of the snow their flight back to Poland was cancelled and so they are here for another week.  I don't believe there ever was a flight they were meant to catch and I suspect that they all here looking for work.  I don't know about in other parts of the country, but in Edinburgh, when you have Polish people in a flat, there always seems to be about 10-12 of them in 1 or 2 bedroomed flats.  Well I hope they all get jobs and move out or go back to Poland soon coz they are doing my nut in.

So anyway I was in a terrible mood all of Thursday because of lack of sleep, and another tough day at work.

Friday was great.  I worked in Glasgow, I started late, met my friend for lunch, bought new nail varnish... managed to paint my nails in work when it got quiet, shhhhhhh!  After work I met my friends in the pub and had a nice night :) stayed in Glasgow all weekend.  On Saturday I had a lie in then spent some time with my mum & dad.  My mum has an amazing jewellery collection and managed to get her to part with some of for me ;) then I went Christmas shopping (Hugo Boss for bf and Molton Brown for mum & dad), and met my friends in the pub.  Only stayed out for 2 or 3 drinks.  They were having an all-dayer and I just wasn't in the mood.  Went home, had a nice bath and watched X Factor.  Yesterday I stayed in bed most of the day then went to my aunt Ann's for her birthday tea.

The only bad thing about the weekend was that I developed the cold from hell :( it started on Saturday night, and it was the reason I stayed in bed most of Sunday.  I was meant to be going to see Frankie Boyle last night in Glasgow with my friend, then getting the last train back to Edinburgh, but I felt too ill and so I cancelled.  I got the train back to Edinburgh and my lovely friend Steven came and picked me up at Waverley and dropped me off at my flat :) I am a 15/20 min walk from the station, but it was too dodgy to walk it and the taxi queue was massive, and also I was dying with the cold by that point so he was a total life saver.

Me & bf were meant to be going to the cinema & stuff today but I just don't feel up to it :( I feel bad coz bf was really looking forward to it :( I was too though.  We are meant to be off today but he has had to nip in to work for a while and I have asked him to come back with medicine & hankies for my cold!

Hope you are all enjoying the snow! :) xx

If the sun or the moon would give way to doubt, they would immediately go out

Heeeeeeeeey :)

I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time today.  I usually get them waxed but I've wanted to try threading for a while.  A colleague recommended that I just have a look in the windows of the little Indian fabric shops at the top of Leith Walk, and that they would probably have signs in the window advertising threading.  I was a bit scared at the thought because I'm always a bit hesitant when trying new eyebrow places.  I've had an eyebrow disaster once and it's sooooo bad coz it's right on your face and you can hardly do anything about it!  Anyway, I was brave and decided to go for it.  I'm a bit more handy with an eyebrow pencil these days and thought if it was messed up at least I could save it a bit.

So the first fabric shop on Leith Walk had a little sign outside advertising beauty treatments, including eyebrow threading so I hopped in.  The woman behind the counter said it cost a fiver and said to go through the back and I'd probably have to wait 10 mins.  I went through and there was a small room, with 2 big chairs in front of mirrors, a treatments bed and a few chairs for people to sit and wait on.  There was 2 women working, and the waiting chairs were full so one of them told me to sit on the bed, so I did.  I'd been sitting there a good few minutes when I realised there was a tiny baby just lying on the end of the bed!  Bit surprising but hey ho.  The baby started to cry and another lady came and took it away.

Eventually........... it was my turn!  I'd heard that sometimes you have to hold your eyebrow up for them, so I said to the woman that it was my first time so she knew to tell me to do stuff.  I didn't have to hold my eyebrow up but I did have to hold it down at one point.  I must say, it was sore!!!  But in a few minutes it was   over and I handed over my fiver.  After that I was straight on the bus to Asda which took ages, and so it was a while before I actually got a chance to look at my eyebrows properly and see if I liked them.  I did look in the mirror in the shop but my brows were all red so I couldn't really tell.  When I got there they had calmed down and I was really happy with them :) they are a nice shape and look more even than they usually do.  Plus, it was only £5!  I usually pay between £10-£15 for waxing.  I'll definitely be back there, and hopefully it won't be as sore next time!

In other news, I had a busy weekend last week.  On the Friday night I went to my friend Steven's flatwarming/birthday party.  It was good and a met a few nice new people.  On the Saturday, me & bf went to Glasgow.  When we got there, he met his sister for lunch and I met my friend.  We had lunch then took a walk along to Sloane's market - http://www.sloansglasgow.com/market which sells some lovely little things, and I bought 2 rings and a necklace.  Then my other friend came along and we went to the pub, and bf met us there later.  Me & bf had to leave eventually as we were going to my uncle's 50th.  All of my family went for dinner.  We had a private room in a local pub and it was lovely.  After the meal, most people went home but me, bf, my aunt & uncle stayed til closing time and had a great time!  There was a singer, and usually I hate live music, but I really enjoyed her singing.  She was a great singer, sang great songs and also had a laugh with the crowd.  She did little dances, and was even up dancing on a chair at one point.  Also there was people up dancing the whole night, and dancing on tables!  Great fun :)

On to this weekend :) last night we went to see Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows :-D I looooooooooved it :) I want to see it again.  Today I got my eyebrows threaded, as I mentioned above, also got a little bit of shopping in ;) tonight me & bf are having a "bed night" which is when we got to bed really early and just watch tv, eat sweets & cuddle etc :) might sound silly but we love it ha ha :) xx

All I know is that you're the nicest thing I've ever seen

I had a great time on Saturday.  My friend Steve came and picked me up and we drove off.  I was a tiny bit worried because Steven is lovely but he can be very quiet at times and it feels a bit awkward, but I needn't have worried!  He was great company on Saturday and we talked and laughed all day.  We drove to The Fort which is a big kind of outdoor shopping centre/retail park in Edinburgh, and went to a couple of shops there.  I was on a mission to get all 4 different shades of Nails Inc polish free with Glamour magazine and I was successful!  I got 3 of them in Superdrug & the last one in Boots :) we then nipped to Ikea where we walked round for a while and spent ages smelling all the candles.  We both came out with a bag full of them!  After that we took a short drive to a lovely little pub called The Stables which was a proper old fashioned pub with a coal fire and we had lunch there.  We drove back in to town after that and went round Sainsbury's, before he dropped me off home :)

After I got home me & bf went out to get Christmas decorations! :) we got everything we wanted.  We came home to watch X Factor but didn't have a great night because the guy upstairs decided to have a party with a million people at it and blast his music :( hate hate hate hate.

On Sunday I got up early and went to a Spin class.  I used to do them all the time when I was younger but gave them up years ago.  It was tough but I really enjoyed myself and I'm looking forward to going to my next one.  After that I met my friend Sam and we went for lunch, then viewed a couple of gyms in Edinburgh.  I think will be joining Factory Gym, but we are trying to get a discount on the joining fee before we do it! xx

I'm doing nothing... coz then at least I'm doing nothing wrong

Evening :)

Last night I ended up in work until half past 7pm, after starting at half 8am.  Shattered.  I was waiting on briefing coming in for the next day, today.

This morning I was at the hospital for my heart <3 all seems to be fine!  My heart scan was fine, heart is perfect.  I do have some irregular beats, which are called ectopic beats, but everyone can occasionally get them, it's just that I seem to be getting loads.  They don't do any harm.  I'm going back in February for a check up but I'm sure it'll be fine! :)

After the hospital I headed to Stirling for a conference.  I sat right up the back.  I didn't choose to go, I had to accompany the boss.  I was there for about 4 hours!  Boredom!!!  I played on my phone for a bit, but you can only do that for so long.  I tried to listen to the speeches, but they were too boring.  I nipped out a couple of times, pretending to go to the toilet, to go n read my magazine!  A guy in front of me's mobile rang, REALLY loud, TWICE!  It rang, so he ran out the room all embarrassed to take the call, came back in 2 mins later, and before he even sat down it rang again!!  You'd think after the first time he'd have learned his lesson and put it on silent!  I'm just glad it wasn't me.  Although mine did vibrate very loudly a few times before I realised it was mine!

After I got back to Edinburgh, I went in to the office for an hour, then headed home for a quiet night in with bf!

Tomorrow, me & my friend and going a drive to Ikea and some other shops, and for lunch. We also have to go on a mission to find Glamour magazines, as I hear they are giving away Nails Inc and so I will need to get every shade they're doing it in of course.  I kinda forgot about it, until bf mentioned it.  He said "I didn't know if you were in to that kinda stuff"  what, nail polish?  Our fridge is full of it.  It's going to be so difficult to get them all.  I take it he forgot when we were running round London this summer trying to get all the different free Benefit things with Glamour, or running round Manchester last year trying to get all the free Nails Inc stuff they did in November last year.  Oh well, fingers crossed we can find them all tomorrow.

Sunday, I am doing my first Spin class in years!  Then meeting another friend and going to see a couple of gyms, and for lunch.

Also buying Christmas decorations with bf somewhere in amongst all of the above :) xx

A man that smells of cocoa butter & cash

Sooooooooooooo, hi :)

I went to the doctors on Friday regarding my pill/headache issues.  She was about to give me a different pill but before that she took my blood pressure.  My blood pressure has always been fine.  For some reason, on Friday it was too high :-/ she said it could be connected to my heart issues, maybe not but she wasn't comfortable giving me another pill while my blood pressure was up and so asked if I would come off it for 6/8 weeks and see how it goes with everything.  Which means relying on condoms for a while, eeeeek.  I'm back at the hospital on Friday for my heart so I'm just playing the waiting game just now to see what happens and see what all the doctors are going to say.

In other news, me & bf took Friday & Monday off work :) so on Friday after the doctor, we went for breakfast./  I had lovely pancakes & syrup, yummmmmmmmmmm.  Then we went to have a little look round the shops, then to the cinema to see Despicable Me in 3D, which was so funny :) we then went for lunch and then back to the cinema to see Red, which was great too.  Had a cosy night in after that :)  On Monday we plan to stay in aaaaaaaaaaaaaall day and watch films in the flat with loads of sweets & chocolate.  Might sounds sad to some people but I am looking forward to it :)

Yesterday I went shopping.  I went to La Senza and got measured, then bought 2 bras in my new size.  Well, it wasn't really a different size, the thing was that I don't really suit a plunge bra, I much more suit a balconette bra!  It's true, my boobies look much bigger & better in a balconette bra!  I then headed to the train station to make a trip to my nearest Primark, which is in Dunfermline.  Normally I can get a train from Edinburgh Waverley to Dunfermline & back no problem, but I discovered yesterday that there are engineering works from now til December, which made my trip a million times more difficult.  I had to get a train from Waverley to Haymarket.  At Haymarket (which is still in Edinburgh), no one knew what was going on, not even the staff.  They didn't know which train was leaving from which platform and when, so it was a little difficult!  Finally managed to get to Dunfermline and got my shopping done.  Getting back from Dunfermline was even more difficult than getting there!  When I got to the station in Dunfermline there had just been a train to Haymarket cancelled, and there was no information about the next train.  Eventually got one, then had to wait aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages for a train at Haymarket to Waverley.  The platform was so busy and there was loads of screaming, crazy kids :( I hate kids at the best of times but when they're shout & screaming it is just my worst nightmare.  Anyway!  Made it home eventually!!! :)

Got home, put my shopping bags in then headed back out to the supermarket to get some vodka for a party I was going to last night.  I bought Absolut pear vodka & lemonade.  My friend brought over orange vodka & champagne!  We had a drink in mine then headed to the party, which was a bit weird.  The birthday girl had asked everyone to dress "formally".  I enjoyed getting all dressed up but there was actually guys wearing tuxes & bow ties, and everything was a bit strange & subdued and we just got bored so we sneaked out!  We walked about Edinburgh for ages before finding food then heading home.  Had a bit of a headache this morning but fine apart from that :) xx

This must be the place

Hi, happy Saturday :)

I hope you've had a good week, mine's been pretty good.

I had a training course Monday & Tuesday, which was alright, not the best course I've been on but it was kinda fun and I met some nice people.  Aaaaand some "interesting" people.  I got particularly well with this one guy, and I noticed the other day that we are on another course together in November! :)

Back to work on Wednesday.  It was ok, then Thursday was really busy.  Yesterday was ok at work but I had to stay kinda late.  I got my mid-year review as well.  I got a good mark but I really hate reviews.  They make me all nervous.  I just hate the idea of sitting in a room while someone tells you how good or bad you are.  I just want to get on with my work.

Last night I went to a friend's flat for a while for a little drink then I just came home.  It wasn't a late one.
Boyfriend has been very cute this week :) <3 he phoned me from work on Thursday evening saying he was leaving to go to the shop to buy something for dinner and I said I would meet him and go the walk with him.  So I met him and he said he wanted to go to Tesco, but he said not the usual Tesco we go to, he wanted to go to "the other one, up the hill".  "Is there another one up there?" I asked.  "Yes." he said.  So I said ok and we started walking.  He stopped outside a nice restaurant and said "There's Tesco there!"  He was actually surprising me by taking me out for dinner :) awwwww!  Luckily I hadn't thought "Oh, we're only going to Tesco" and dressed like a tramp ha ha, I actually looked ok to be in the restaurant :)

Then, we were in bed the other night and just before midnight, he got up and said "Oh, I just have to go and switch my computer off, I've been downloading anti-virus stuff".  He was away for quite a while but I wasn't bothered, I ended up falling asleep!  But he lied!  It was nothing to do with anti-virus stuff, guess what he was doing?  Booking tickets for us to go and see Harry Potter on the day it's released!  He doesn't even like Harry Potter he just knows how much I do!  So sweet! :)

Staying in tonight and watching the X Factor, no plans for tomorrow so far :) xx

I love it when you double clap clap

So happy it's Saturday :) I love the weekend, and as sad as it may sound, was really looking forward to this one as me & my bf both had no plans and it's good to just relax :)

I had to nip to the shops during my lunch hour yesterday.  Well really I had to nip to the bank but the bank is near all the shops so it'd be rude not to pop in to H&M, Boots & the £ shop while I was in the area!  I bought...

Barry M Spring Green (290) & Instant Nail Effects (311) from Boots.  You may have heard of Nail Effects? It's gives an interesting effect to your nails!  Not sure how to describe it but I'm just using it now so will post a pic later.  Also if you Google I'm sure you'll find an example :)

Vanilla & Apple body lotion, big jewelled hairclips & eyelash curlers from H&M.  I did need an new body lotion & the blue coloured packaging appealed to me.  Not 100% sure I love the smell though.  I did already buy eyelash curlers this week from Boots... but I didn't think they were that great so giving these a go!  I have no excuse for buying the hairclips other than that I thought they were gorgeous and couldn't leave without them!! :)

Also had to buy these...
Gloves for fake tanning, painkillers, Milky Bar Raisin & Biscuit aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand........ Milka Bar with popping candy!  I love popping candy.  This went down well with bf too.

Had a bit of a lie in this morning then we took a walk and went out for breakfast, was nice!  Wish we always had time to do lovely things like this.

In other news... I got a letter this morning to go back to the hospital about my heart.  To cut a long story short I've been in hospital twice with my heart because it suddenly developed a weird heartbeat.  Totally out of the blue.  The first time I was in hospital I got 2 ECG's, chest x-ray, blood tests etc etc, then I had to go back and have a heart scan, then had to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours.  Handed the heart monitor back in 2 weeks ago and now have to go back on 5th November.  I'm actually quite keen to go and find out what it is.  The nurses who fitted the monitor told me that if it wasn't serious then they wouldn't get in touch at all and I would need to go to my GP who would then have to chase the hospital for the results.  I was going to do that for my own curiosity, but now I don't have to.  That sounds a bit bad, because obviously it is sort of serious then, if they have got back to me themselves?  Have to wait and see but it can't be that bad or I think they would of had me in sooner...   xx
